Method
Step 1: Preparation
- Heat ghee in a clay pot and add chopped onions. Saute until they are lightly browned.
- Add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric, salt, and green cardamom. Mix well.
Step 2: Cooking Mutton
- Add the mutton pieces to the pot and mix well with the spice mixture. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add yogurt and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 3: Adding Spices
- Add black pepper, cinnamon, javetri, and jaiphal to the pot. Mix well.
- Add 1-2 cups of water to the pot and bring to a boil.
Step 4: Cooking and Thickening
- Reduce the heat to low and cook for 1-1.5 hours, or until the mutton is tender.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of ghee to the pot and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 5: Serving
- Serve the Degi Mutton Kunna hot, garnished with chopped fresh coriander.

Storage: refrigerate 3 days, freeze 2 months. Reheat on stovetop.
