Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 750 g fine flour (maida)
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp milk powder
  • 1/2 egg egg
  • 2 tbsp desi ghee
  • 1 cup water at room temperature
For Kneading
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil or ghee
For Brushing
  • 1 tbsp desi ghee
  • 1 tbsp water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and milk powder.
  2. Add the egg and mix well.
  3. Add the desi ghee and mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Gradually add the water and knead the dough for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes soft and smooth.
Kneading
  1. Apply some cooking oil or ghee to the dough and knead for another 2-3 minutes.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Shaping
  1. Divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions, depending on the size of paratha you prefer.
  2. Roll out each portion into a thin circle, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or tava over medium heat.
  2. Place a paratha on the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, until it starts to puff up.
  3. Brush the paratha with some desi ghee and flip it over.
  4. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the paratha is golden brown and crispy.

Notes

To store, wrap the parathas in a cloth and keep them in an airtight container. Serve with your favorite barbecue dish.
